International Volunteer Program
As a Habitat for Humanity long term international volunteer, you will be able to share your professional expertise and offer skills which will be most valuable to a local grassroots organisation. You will have the opportunity to educate yourself about poverty, housing needs in a developing country and immerse yourself in a challenging cross-cultural experience. You will also gain a better understanding of global issues and stretch yourself as you apply your skills in a new context and from a new perspective.
Habitat for Humanity’s International Volunteer Program (IVP) is currently running a pilot to refine the processes and manuals that accompany the program.
- IVP Special Project Volunteers work on special projects and programming ranging from finance, communications, and resource development to training, volunteer coordination, research and a variety of other areas.
- IVP volunteers work with a host organisation for a minimum of 6 months.
- Qualified applicants must be 18 years or older and be able to cover all their own costs of travelling and living abroad including insurance, visas, housing, food and travel to and from the host country.
All current available IVP positions are posted at www.habitat.org/ivp
