Board of Directors

The CEO and management of HFHA report to a National Board made up of volunteers who are the directors of the company. These directors are accountable to ASIC and the Australian law in the same way as all company directors. The Board meets every two months to review strategy and progress against plans. The board now consists of:

 

Chris Franks, Sydney, NSW (Chair)

Chris Franks

 

Chris has extensive experience in the not-for-profit world and mutual’s, after originally training as a nurse.

Currently the Development Manager for the Maccabi Sports Foundation and a director of CUA (Credit Union Australia), she has chaired the Code of Conduct Committee for ACFID, the Charities Ministerial Advisory Committee NSW, and been associated as a volunteer or executive with Oxfam Australia, Save the Children Fun, Starlight Children’s Foundation, National Heart Foundation and a number of organisations involved in marketing and consumer advocacy

 


Peter R Schulze, Adelaide, SA

Peter SchulzeMr Schulze has had career long senior leadership roles in the areas of workers compensation, HR, entrepreneurial ventures, and currently, international relief work.

Since 2005, he has been the Partnerships and Programs Director for Mission International - Developing Nations for Mission International, involving wide travel.  Previous roles have been with Myers, the Workcover South Australia, Chamber of Manufacturers and entrepreneurial ventures.

Active in a number of community organisations, he has been on the Board of HFH SA since 2006

 


Hugh Martin, Sydney, NSW

Mr. Martin, an Executive Director of Lend Lease in their apartments business, has over 30 years experience in the property industry. He has been CEO of the Olympic Village in Sydney, Docklands in Melbourne and delivered 12 high value projects for Stocklands. In his initial finance career, he worked in Hong Kong for Hong Kong Land and Jardine Matheson. Mr. Martin has a particular interest in affordable housing and the Bangaroo project in Darling Harbour, Sydney is a major current focus. In his community activities, he notably Chaired the arrangements for the Holy Mass for World Youth Day at Randwick Racecourse last year.

 


Kerry J Bartlett, Blue Mountains, NSW

Kerry BartlettMr Bartlett recently completed 12 years in Federal Parliament as the Member for Macquarie, including serving as the Chief Government Whip, 2004-2007.  His tenure also included serving on key educational, training, environmental, health and ageing committees.

Previously he was a secondary school economics teacher in NSW and PNG for almost 25 years.  He has ongoing leadership roles in a number of community organisations.

 


 Graeme W Sinclair, Melbourne, VIC (Treasurer)

Graeme Sinclair Graeme Sinclair is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 30 years’ experience in investment and wealth management services.  He qualified and worked with KMPG in their Melbourne and London Offices. 

Mr Sinclair joined the Myer Family Group in 1973 and retired from the role of Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of The Myer Family Company Pty Ltd group in 2009.  The group comprises investment companies and provides ASIC-licensed financial services.

Mr Sinclair is a director of Peet Ltd - and Mirrabooka Investments LTD, Chairman of Australian Geographic Retail Pty Ltd and a director of a number of other private companies. He is also a Trustee of The WIlliam Buckland Foundation. He has previously been involved in professional, community and philanthropic activities as well as committee roles in sporting and aged care organisations.

He is a director of HFH (Victoria) Inc.

 


Paul Mulroney, Sydney, NSW

Paul Mulroney is a Magistrate, currently sitting in the NSW Children’s Court. Prior to this appointment, he worked for more than 20 years in legal aid, handling mainly criminal cases. His career has included work on the Legal Aid Society, Law Society and numerous community groups. He has a lengthy Habitat history having been on the national board 2001-2005 and has served as the Chair of HFHNSW since 2005.
