Australian Need

At any one time, 100,000 Australians are without a home

There are approximately 200,000 families living permanently in caravan parks and more than 172,000 families on public housing waiting lists around Australia.

The number of Australians living in inadequate, unsafe housing is growing every year with the escalating costs of housing nation wide.

By and large, homelessness in our culture has to do with a safe place to live. What a house that is to become a home is about, is belonging. A place with good relationships. Habitat for Humanity is breaking this cycle by providing simple, decent homes for families in need of a safe and nurturing environment in which to live.

Australian Need

"I enthusiastically support Habitat for Humanity - a remarkable organisation deserving of all the help we can give it. The people it serves put as much in as they are given, thereby providing a sense of achievement, as well as the confidence and calm that comes with the security of one's own home. Become involved in any way you can with Habitat for Humanity, and in return you will be inspired and uplifted by the wonderful stories associated with every step of Habitat's development."  — Noni Hazelhurst, TV Personality

"My son just couldn't wait to get into our Habitat home. For the first time in his life he'll be able to put posters on the walls of his bedroom".
