Everest Build, Nepal                           1-8 October 2010

The Everest Build 2010 will celebrate more than a decade of Habitat’s work in the mountainous nation. In July 2009, Habitat for Humanity Nepal marked its 5,000th house milestone and looks forward to serving another 5,000 families within the next two years. HFH Nepal plans to initiate a campaign to assist 100,000 families within the next five years. From 1st to 8th October 2010, volunteers will work alongside families to build houses in Pohkara, a popular tourist destination, about 200 km west of Kathmandu. Together with Habitat families, volunteers will be constructing houses made of treated, prefabricated bamboo panels. Other houses will be built with cement blocks which the Habitat home partners help manufacture on the build site.

Registration is closed.
