Welcome to Global Village

 

Global Village is Habitat for Humanity's international volunteering programme which provides opportunities for individuals and groups to become active partners with overseas communities in need. Our teams work alongside community members and local construction workers to build safe and decent homes in many countries.

Global Village Builds are between one and two weeks long. Every Build is a unique adventure, but one thing is always the same: you will experience village life in another country, get a taste of a different culture, build a home for a needy family, develop friendships and create life-long memories.

Global Village is a powerful personal development opportunity. Your world view will change as you step outside your comfort zone. For this reason, Global Village plays a number of important roles in community service - whether you are a school student or a member of a community, sporting or other social group.Our corporate partners also report that Global Village has had a lasting impact in their Leadership Development programmes.

No construction experience is required. There will be a local construction supervisor on site to show you what to do. You could be digging foundations, plastering brick walls, sifting sand, hammering, sawing, painting and moving materials.
