In NSW, our Brush With Kindness program has assist

In NSW, our Brush With Kindness program has assisted in the renovations of crisis accommodation. We've worked in partnership with a service that provides overnight and short-term accommodation for vulnerable and at-risk males over 18 in the inner city. The service provides a place of safety where men can start to address their needs. Everyone deserves a decent place to call home and this work is so important in ensuring these people have a safe place to seek refuge. Our housing system is broken and we need to be working together to fix this. More than half of the $100,000 target to secure th

More than half of the $100,000 target to secure the innovative Studio Purpose Youth Homelessness accommodation project has been secured! Project partners are now campaigning to raise the remainder of funds to proceed with this unique initiative in Murray Bridge, SA to deliver accommodation and diverse support for young people at risk of homelessness. A vacant property has been secured, cross-agency partnerships formalised and a broad program designed to address the needs of young people and Habitat for Humanity is nearly ready to begin the construction phase - to construct safe accommodation for youths experiencing homelessness with a focus on health and well being, education, development, connection and engagement. On any one night 116,000 people are sleeping rough in Australia. Together we can help end homelessness in Australia by creating accommodation such as this.

Habitat for Humanity South Australia is in it's fi

Habitat for Humanity South Australia is in it's fifth month of supporting property owners impacted by the 2019 Cudlee Creek Bushfire in the Adelaide Hills. Here are our Bushfire Recovery Program achievements thanks to the support of generous corporate donors, individual donors and volunteers:

▪️ 100 Recovery Days completed
▪️ 89 property owners assisted (Some owners have received assistance on multiple days)
▪️Over 150 unique volunteers engaged
▪️ Key activities include debris clean-up, removal of damaged fencing and re-planting of vegetation

Habitat's goal, according to Habitat experts from around the world, is to create more healthy homes and also to support healthier housing markets that can lead the way to a sustainable recovery.

📢 Announcing our Local Village Program 📢 giving you the opportunity to work as a team to provide support to families affected by the Bushfires. All while giving back to the local economy and experiencing the best that the Adelaide Hills wine region has to offer!

▪️ What: You will work alongside families to help rebuild, clean up, sort and pile debris and replant trees. No skills are necessary, and anyone over the age of 15 can join the team. As a team you will achieve so much more in a few days than the families would have achieved in months, saving them so much time, money and worry.

▪️ Where: Our first Local Village experience is in the Adelaide Hills
▪️ When: 22-25 October, 2020
▪️ Registration Fee: $100 (50% off for a limited time)
▪️ Individual Minimum Fundraising: $1,000
