On May 10, Habitat for Humanity Australia celebrated transforming lives through volunteering and beyond at our Gala Dinner at Parliament House, Sydney.
Over the years, with the help of our supporters we’ve been able to take great steps towards our vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Watch the video below to see what we do and the impact of your support.
On the night we were joined by over 250 amazing guests including corporate supporters, former volunteers and other partners. Along with delicious food, there was an inspiring keynote speech delivered by Greg Keith – CEO of Grant Thornton, and also a fabulous performance by Inner West Voices. The live auction was hosted by the incredible Simon Jaeger from AuctionWORKS and we sold three Global Village trips along with many other fantastic prizes. As usual, the event was MC’d by the amazing Angela Catterns who is also a Habitat for Humanity Australia Ambassador.
It costs approximately $3,000 to build a house in the Asia Pacific region and thanks to our guests, we also “sold” a total of 15 houses on the night – exceeding our original goal of 12 homes. Together, we raised over $175,000 which will play a key role in impacting more families and making home a reality for those in need.
Thank you again to all our guests and sponsors, including Boral, ANSA Homes, Boston Scientific, Arup, Delta Air Lines and Vietnam Airlines. We would like to give a special mention to Cara Elliott from Ashton & Elliott, Event Manager extraordinaire, who organised our most successful Gala yet.
