Proctor & Gamble team builds home for Habitat

In June this year, 10 volunteers from Proctor & Gamble (P&G) flew to Northern Vietnam with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for Nguyen and his family.
Not only did they build a home, the team also raised over $22,000 which will also allow other families to receive safe and decent housing.

Previously, Nguyen, lived in an old brick home and he earned about $7 a day working as a farmer. However, his income is only sufficient to cover the basic needs of his family of five.

Now, with a safe and decent home to live, Nguyen and his wife will be able to better save for the future and give their children a solid foundation and a fresh start.

Without volunteers, our life changing work would not be possible. Thank you again to the P&G team for their support!

Whether for business or personal benefits, corporations and their employees can benefit from a volunteer experience. Habitat for Humanity’s five day volunteering program not only provides their staff with a unique immersion experience which forms new perspectives but it provides a challenging environment in which leadership, communications and teamwork can be tested and forged.

International volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is a powerful experience that can:

  • Enhance global leadership perspectives in senior management
  • Be a centrepiece for a major gathering or national conference
  • Be used to reward and retain new and emerging leadership talent
  • together newly merged or poorly functioning teams and business units
