Volunteer as an Individual

Home > Volunteer > About Global Village > How to Volunteer > Volunteer as an Individual

Each year, Habitat for Humanity sends over 450 volunteers overseas to help families in need build safe and decent homes.

When an individual signs up to volunteer and build with us, they can choose to join any of our upcoming trips. Each volunteer team is usually made up of 12 -15 people.

Volunteers can choose to build in countries such as countries Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal and Fiji, and also fundraise to support the cause. This money goes toward not only helping build the home you will be working on, but supports Habitat for Humanity’s wider development program in the community. This includes the building of more homes and providing access to water, sanitation and livelihood opportunities for other families in the area. Your hard work goes far beyond a single family and will create lasting change for communities across the Asia Pacific.

Our dedicated staff and trained team leaders manage the entire week from the moment our volunteers land, to the moment they depart. Transport, cultural activities, accommodation and meals are all arranged, so that volunteers can focus on giving back and helping out.

The best part of the experience is the chance to work alongside the family whose home you are helping to build. Their lives will be forever changed, and your hard work will continue to have a lasting impact long after you’ve returned home.
